Immediately following the business meeting, KVGS Member and Genealogist Janine Guimont Cotugno will present "To Be or Not to Be Canadian…Eh! Tips on Canadian Genealogy."
Do you know that you might be eligible for Canadian Citizenship if you have an ancestor born in Canada? If you can provide vital statistics and other proof documents to show a direct line between that ancestor and yourself, you can apply for a Canadian Citizenship by Descent Certificate. Learn from Janine what genealogy sources can help you find the needed Canadian documents.
This event is hybrid: at the Portage District Library and on Zoom. Socializing and refreshments begin at 6:30 pm at the library. Register in advance if you plan to attend the 7 pm business meeting and program via Zoom. Members and guests alike are always welcome!
