KVGS General Meet - David Eddy, Law Enforcement's Leading Role in IGG-Enabled Criminal Investigation (KVGS Events)
7:00 pm Portage District Library, 300 Library Lane, Portage, MI and on Zoom
Please join us for our May general meeting at 7 pm. Members and guests alike are always welcome!
This event is hybrid: at the Portage District Library and on Zoom. Socializing and refreshments begin at 6:30 pm at the library. Register in advance if you plan to attend via Zoom.
Immediately following a brief business meeting, Retired MSP Detective First Lieutenant David Eddy will present “Law Enforcement’s Leading Role in IGG-Enabled Criminal Investigations.”
While investigative applications and overall understanding of DNA have increased exponentially over the last few decades, another revolution in its evolution began in 2018 with the emergence of Forensic Genetic Genealogy (FGG), also known as Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy (FIGG). In less than ten years, FIGG has provided new life to hundreds of dead-end cold-case investigations, as well as given new hope to countless families who had perhaps long-ago lost hope of locating their loved ones, identifying those responsible, or otherwise finding justice.
Come and hear David Eddy’s fascinating talk!
For our Zoom participants:
KVGS members can expect to receive a meeting reminder email with a Zoom registration link several days before the meeting. To our visitors, please contact us at info@mikvgs.org several days before the meeting to request the registration link. Members may also contact us by email.
Join us in person or online via Zoom!
